I am doing an upgrade in place of my current website with the new theme. 
I take it I should back up my entire site for sure.
After I do this, should I still import demo content? Then is it possible to import my blog posts only? 
What is the best practice? I just don’t want to lose my data.

Do you want to import demo data from current theme to our theme? Please send us your account admin and website, we will help you check it.

I went through the manual import demo content and I now see the pages and posts from the demo content. It looks like I haven’t lost my blog posts either which is good. 
I went through Step 5 of setting up the homepage and blog page, and also set the menu location in step 6. 
However, when I try to go and look at the website, the home page just hangs and doesn’t load. 
Can someone help? I can give you admin details when you contact me. Thank you.

Now, Your issues only are about and homepage. We saw Visual Composer need to update, can we update it soon?

Please advise the status on this. Will you be updating Visual Composer as stated in the documentation?

Please write a new question instead of a new comment. Because we didn’t see new comment in the dashboard.
We updated Visual Composer plugin for you. You only delete this plugin and install it again. Now, please list us your issues and include the screenshot, we will help you every issues.

Hello,
Thank you for getting back to me. I did not realize you would not see comments.
The issue appears to have been fixed with the updated Visual Composer! Thank you. I did not do anything with the visual composer plugin upon installing the theme so I’m not exactly sure where I went wrong.
You may close this issue. I will begin working through the set up and log a new issue if I run into any problems.
